Cwn Annwn (Hounds of Annwn), With Animal Mix, Op 218
From Wikipedia: In Welsh mythology and folklore, Cwn Annwn, "Hounds of Annwn") were the spectral hounds of Annwn, the otherworld of Welsh myth. They were associated with a form of the Wild Hunt, presided over by Gwyn ap Nudd (rather than Arawn, king of Annwn in the First Branch of the Mabinogi). Christians came to dub these mythical creatures as "The Hounds of Hell" or "Dogs of Hell" and theorized they were therefore owned by Satan. However, the Annwn of medieval Welsh tradition is an otherworldly paradise and not a hell or abode of dead souls.
In Wales, they were associated with migrating geese, supposedly because their honking in the night is reminiscent of barking dogs. They are supposed to hunt on specific nights (the eves of St. John, St. Martin, Saint Michael the Archangel, All Saints, Christmas, New Year, Saint Agnes, Saint David, and Good Friday), or just in the autumn and winter. Some say Arawn only hunts from Christmas to Twelfth Night. The Cwn Annwn also came to be regarded as the escorts of souls on their journey to the Otherworld.
Hunting Song of the Seeonee Pack, Op 219
From Kipling’s “Mowgli”, the song of the wolf pack set to music:
As the dawn was breaking the Sambhur belled
Once, twice and again!
And a doe leaped up, and a doe leaped up
From the pond in the wood where the wild deer sup.
This I, scouting alone, beheld,
Once, twice and again!
As the dawn was breaking the Sambhur belled
Once, twice and again!
And a wolf stole back, and a wolf stole back
To carry the word to the waiting pack,
And we sought and we found and we bayed on his track
Once, twice and again!
As the dawn was breaking the Wolf Pack yelled
Once, twice and again!
Feet in the jungle that leave no mark!
Eyes that can see in the dark--the dark!
Tongue--give tongue to it! Hark! O hark!
Once, twice and again!
-Kipling

Chaos - The Sedimentary Lines of the Grand Canyon, Op 237
As some of you may know, we breed poodles. We sold a pup, Marco, to a lady from Santa Fe, NM, and he was too big to ship by air. So, we met the pup’s new owner in Flagstaff, AZ and delivered him. On the way back, we went to the Grand Canyon so my son could see it. I was struck by the random shapes of the rocks, and to some extent the layers of different colored sedimentation layers. Thus, the inspiration for this piece.
Lament for Harald the Sturgeon, Op 238
Scenario From ABC News:
Alas, poor Harald. Wired up to a satellite transmitter, he had much to teach science about the life of the great sturgeons of the Danube River and Black Sea.
When in 2009 a team of Romanian and Norwegian researchers attached a satellite transmitter to Harald's 2.9 meter (9-foot) body, they hoped the data beamed back would show them ways of halting the rapid drop in the sturgeons' numbers. But now the Beluga sturgeon is missing, presumed to be a victim of poachers.
But as Harald's story illustrates, the threats have not disappeared.
He made his way downstream to the Danube Delta and into the Black Sea. Abhorring light, he stayed in murky depths of 10 to 50 meters (30-150 feet).
Scientists pieced together his movements from 11,000 messages transmitted over five days after the tag reached the surface six months later.
Harald had foraged for herring, sprats, mackerel and other small fish for several weeks. Then in October he swam north.
Suddenly, on Nov. 2, he stopped moving. For three days he stayed on the bottom of the sea, 65 meters (215 feet) down, immobile.
During the night of Nov. 6, sometime after 2 a.m., Harald rose swiftly to the surface, and went in a straight line, 11 kilometers (7 miles) to the Crimean coast. He remained offshore for two days and on land for another two. The transmitter's final messages, plotted with the help of Google Earth, indicated movement along a railway line.

String Theory, Op 246
From Wikipedia:
In physics, string theory is a theoretical framework in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings. In string theory, the different types of observed elementary particles arise from the different quantum states of these strings. In addition to the types of particles postulated by the standard model of particle physics, string theory naturally incorporates gravity, and is therefore a candidate for a theory of everything, a self-contained mathematical model that describes all fundamental forces and forms of matter. Aside from this hypothesized role in particle physics, string theory is now widely used as a theoretical tool in physics, and it has shed light on many aspects of quantum field theory and quantum gravity.

The murky, stale air envelopes him. All around him it is gray; sky and ground. Soon he hears chorus of succubus as they entertain the `host`, and there is the vision of Mephistopheles, himself (Low voices). As it becomes darker, there is the sound of the roaring flames, and chimes cry out 6-6-6. For a moment, the wail of lost souls is almost deafening, but then only one sound is heard ... slow laughing.

The barracudas debate (three separate choral fonts) argue among themselves about the fact that a long beard is difficult to chew through, and that there is a gaping hole in the side of the body's head with goo coming out. The Universe, Infinity, and the Hand of God, Op 276
God, who created the universe... it operates under His auspices, and has for the last 13.7 billion years... My most personal piece, and one of the longest not separated into movements. This piece is unique to me in that as I was writing it, the music just kept coming to me. After 30 minutes, it seemed to conclude on its own. Outside forces (don’t laugh) seemed to be directing this. Was I channeling Anton Bruckner, as some have suggested? I don’t think so, but who knows…

Exoplanet Dawn, Op 289
The isolated astronauts land on a planet circling Alpha Centauri B 4-1/4 light years away. It is not the exoplanet now known (which is closer to the star than Mercury to the sun), but one at the appropriate distance to have liquid water, and an atmosphere similar to Earth. The melancholy of the barrenness is represented by the use of the English Folksong, "Turtle Dove", through the middle of the work. In 1919 Ralph Vaughan Williams did a setting of this song, and through a recording I became familiar with the melody which I thought appropriate here...

From the Old British Carol which has a large set of alternative lyrics …
Dives and Lazarus parable is in Luke 16, and the words are based on that parable. Dives and Lazarus' theme is also used in the Irish song "Star of County Down", and the Mormon Hymn, "If You Could Hie to Kolob", among other places...
Here are the first two verses:
1. As it fell out upon a day,
Rich Dives made a feast,
And he invited all his friends,
And gentry of the best.
2. Then Lazarus laid him down and down,
And down at Dives' door;
Some meat, some drink, brother Dives,
Bestow upon the poor.

Rufus and the Saucer originated as a short Science Fiction story submitted to the AKC for a “Dog Story’ contest. They probably figured the story was too odd for the readers of “Family Dog”, magazine. And were probably right. I also submitted to various Sci Fi magazines and got nowhere. One condescending buffoon said it didn’t strike him. Well if lightning struck him he probably wouldn’t feel it either. The written story roughly follows Act I. Act II events were added later for the Opera
(01) Overture
(02) Wyoming Ranch I
(Jack Barton (Jason’s ((Main Character) Maternal Grandfather) is in the barn of his ranch in southwestern Wyoming and hears a crunching noise outside. Goes out and sees a small “flying saucer craft” outside through the windows he sees two heads, alien. He was aware of and knew of Roswell in 1947. The craft opens and what appears to be an alien man and his son appear)
Captain : Please, friend don’t call the authorities
Jack: (making a quick assessment) Don’t worry. Let’s get this thing into the barn. Government types will be coming this way soon.
Capt Sam Reticuli (as a Child) : Kopa ta, E spook (Papa please, I am scared)
The captain and Jack pull the saucer inside the barn.
Jack: Does your youngin want something to eat? My wife is cooking corn on the cob
Captain: Corn on the Cob- What is it?
Jack: Something youngins usually like
Captain: OK
Jack goes to his house and retrieves the corn and gives a cob to each of his visitors showing them how to eat it)
Captain: We were flying low
And then unplanned
We took a blow
We had to land
When a boy is small you know
He gets excited
We had to see
The countryside here
Sam: (munching happily) :
Papa this is good (Speaking English which he knew from radio)
Capt : I contacted the mother ship –
Parts will be delivered
We will be out of your way this evening –
I hope you will keep quiet about us
Jack: I know about Roswell
Don’t trust government types
Capt: Yes, lost a friend on that ship
Jack: Wow, OK – Stay quiet in case they show up
(Jack looks at young Sam amused – He finished the first cob, and is working happily on second one) Same some for your father…
(Both adults chuckle)
(A car is heard pulling up outside – there is a squeak of breaks-Jack goes outside)
Bureaucrat 1: Excuse me sir, have you seen anything strange?
Jack: Naw, just a couple of government types in a panic as usual.
Bureaucrat 2 (Seems to be the boss) : That is unnecessary, sir. We are looking for a flying machine. The beings inside are dangerous.
Jack: Oh, you mean Will Jackson
and his hot air balloon
in the ranch Next door?
He’s a little odd, but not dangerous –
Fool Gonna get himself kilt!
He was out with that thing this morning.
Bureaucrat 2: (frowns and hands him a business card) Call us if you see
anything.
(The government types enter their car and exit the ranch, parking across the road watching Jack’s house and barn – Jack re-enters the barn)
Jack: Those fellows are still across the road – Stay quiet.
I will be in the house for awhile – to Keep a better eye on the idiots across the road…
(Reaches into a cupboard and pulls out a couple of packages of corn seeds, and hands them to the captain )
For planting when you get back.
(03) Wyoming Ranch II
(After about an hour the government car drove off – it is sunset – then about an hour later…A box appears at the barn entrance – Jack takes it inside)
Jack: I think this is what you fellers were looking for
Capt: Thank you. We will be out of your way shortly
(Jack watches as the captain makes repairs – when the Captain finishes, Jack opens the barn door – The two visitors climb inside but not before--)
Capt: Gyroscopic failures
Saucer makers should be more sensitive
To planetary environments
This is not like your coyote and roadrunner
And the ACME catalog
These parts have to work
Jack: Some situations are universal (Shrugs)
Capt: We are done. Thanks again
Sam: And - Thank you for the corn…
Jack: You’re welcome
(The mini-saucer flies out of the barn and disappears in the night sky – about five minutes later the bureaucrat car comes racing down the road – hesitates at the ranch entrance and drives on – by this time the barn is closed and Jack is inside the house)
Next Morning…
(04) Search Warrant
(There is a knock at Jack’s door – he answers) )
Sheriff: Jack, what did you do to those government guys, I have a search warrant for your barn.
Jack: (Laughing) Nosey idiots…Come on…
(Jack leads the Sheriff to the barn)
Sheriff: (Noticing the empty corn cobs)
Government bureaucrat types, Worried about the corn,
Think you planted too much? Heh!
Well, any evidence is gone, (Sheriff winks at Jack)
The corn is eaten –
You gotta clean up those cobs (Sherrif winks)
I see nothing here,
They won’t be happy, they won’t,
But, Jack, you have nothing to fear
(The sheriff and Jack exit the barn, shake hands, and the sheriff leaves)
Scene II
(05) (Outside Liverpool, England on a wheat farm. Mary Markham has had a nasty breakup with her boyfriend – She is at home crying sitting by her kitchen window at the table with her mother having a cup of tea)
Martha Markham (Mary’s mom) : Don’t worry dear, you’ll find someone better than him.
Mary: I guess you are right, mum, but you never liked him. I guess you were right. But it’s hard we’ve been together for 2 years.
That Colin, he’s such a rat,
How dare he treat me like that
Find me a way to feed him
Feed to to a large zoo cat
Take the first bite from where the bastard sat!
But Lioness will say – this meat tainted
Colin drinks so much he sometimes fainted
Glad I know now, before we mated
Forever more he’s going to be hated
(She sees strange lights in ger father’s field)
What’s this???
(Hearing about crop circles she goes outside, looks up Runs outside)
Martha: Mary NO! STOP!
(Mary looks up arms outstretched)
(06) Mary: Spaceman take me away!
(Mary wanders into the lighted area and disappears – Her parents come running outside – but it is too late)
(on the ship – Mary turns around and sees Sam, cautious but trying not to show she is terrified)
Sam: I heard your request!
Mary: Who are you strange person?
Sam: (Now the first officer under his father)
I am your relief from grief-
The one who makes you grin
Pretty English girls shouldn’t have tears
So I can allay your fears
I promise I won’t eat you
That is not my goal
Just to help you calm down
That is Reticuli’s plan
Mary: You’re an odd looking fellow
But you are kinda nice,
I’m a stranger in a strange place
So I think that will suffice – For now –
But that you must know
My parents must be worried
Their eldest girl is gone
And, what do they tell the police?
Sam: Your parents will be assured,
But don’t you want to stay?
I think earth girls are cute
And they have so much to say
You see it’s lonely here,
My father made me number 2
So I Travel the universe wide
And you could learn about it too
Mary: (Now almost smiling – quit crying) Let me think a little bit
This is all so new to me
How will my folks be told
I am going on a trip
A long, long trip
Sam: Leave the details to me,
And all will be well,
They will know their girl is safe
Sam Reticuli’s promise,
Explore the universe with me
I will return you if you want
But you need an adventure
And I need a friend… I do
(07) Scene III
Jason (to Rufus) : Today,
A very long day.
I am too good at this job,
and they don’t pay me enough.
But I am good at what I do,
And there is nothing else..
(Rufus barks)
Those squirrels know about you, my friend
They want no unfortunate end
They’ll stay in the tree ‘till we’re
Around the bend
(Rufus barks again – Sniff in the air towards a light circle now visible in the growing night behind the little league baseball field)
What do you see buddy?
(Rufus pulls Jason to the light)
What is this? … There is no source…to the light
(Jason doesn’t see the saucer overhead about 100’ above them. A phantom human looking spirit appears. He is dressed like someone from 18th century nobility with a German accent) )
Phantom: What manner of arena is this? Too small for jousting…
Jason: Who or what are you? That is a baseball diamond.
Phantom: Diamond? There are no jewels.
(Rufus barks)
Phantom: Aaaah! Fine hunting dog. Is there game about?
Jason: (More agitated) Who or what are you?
Phantom: I am he of the ship unseen. The traveler. The one who acquires.
Jason: Acquire what?
(At this point Jason steps into the lighted circle and loses consciousness as does Rufus)
(08) Jason Dream Sequence
Jason is unconscious in the Saucer Arrival Room and is having a dream of leaving the Solar System and going to a new, and, unknown to him planet, someone is holding his hand but he can see them, but surmises it is female… Is the dream induced by the ones who took him on the saucer? Note: (? Dancers representing the planets and maybe kid dancers representing key moons of the planets?)
(09) Jason Awakens
Jason and Rufus come to in a large empty room which is dimly lighted. There is only a chair and table. Overhead there are windows above. Jason can see some sort of beings up there behind the glass, but they don’t exactly look human except for a couple of them – Speakers are turned on and there is a lot of chatter but not in English
Captain Reticuli: (speaking in his native tongue) Zahk nupaa, bogot earth taka.
Jason: Excuse me, I don’t understand you. If you are going to serve me, and my friend. Well.. Get it done with. (Rufus barks) I saw the old “Twilight Zone” episode but can’t believe this is real…
Captain Reticuli: Sorry. Doctor says I have to cut back
sodium. Human meat’s too salty.
(Gasps are heard)
Just kidding. No one is eating anybody. But we need the help of you and your friend there, and you will be paid.
Jason: What do you have in mind?
(at this point the lights brighten, a door appears and opens – a nearly human looking woman about Jason’s age enters the room. She has styled lilac colored hair and her eyes have no irises. Other than that, she looks human and is in Jason’s mind, cute)
(She speaks with an English accent)
Kira: I’m Kira…Come with me, American Earthling ,
And, Bring your friend
(10) (giggles as Jason is staring at her hair)
La la la… la la la
Me mum’s from Liverpool,
but me dad elsewhere…
I have lilac colored hair
Which you can’t stop staring at
I think you must like it?
You can’t stop smiling
Smiling at me
There’s a reason
For all of this
Man-ga-nese
Manganese in my blood, bud
Manganese in my blood
Chorus: Man-ga-nese…man-ga-nese
Kira: Me mum’s from Liverpool,
but me dad elsewhere…
Chorus: Liverpool - elsewhere
Kira: I am a cross,
I’m not cross. (giggle)
Chorus: Not cross…not cross…not not not
Kira: But you think I’m Ok,
And I think that of you.
Chorus: You’re OK She’s Ok
Kira: Manganese in my blood, bud
Manganese in my blood
It flows in my veins
Chorus: in her veins
Kira: Me mum’s an English girl,
Me dad pilots saucers
Chorus: Liverpool – saucer whiz
Kira: Besta both worlds,
That is just me
Chorus: She’s the best
Of both worlds
Kira: All cause-a manganese
Manganese in my blood
Chorus: Manganese-manganese
Kira: My blood has a purple hue,
My hair shows it too
Chorus: Purple hue hair and blood
Kira: In my blood.
It’s in my blood, bud…
Chorus: In her….BLOOD!
(Jason can’t stop grinning- he thinks she’s one of the cutest girls he’s ever seen))
Kira: Bring your friend this way…
(11) Kira: I was born on another world,
But my mum’s an earthling,
Papa is the pilot
Swept her off the ground…
Thank you crop circles
Or I wouldn’t be here.
Jason: Not here?
Kira: Not here nowhere, only in my mum’s dreams…
and probably with blond hair like hers (giggle)
(Kira leads Jason and Rufus out of the entry room and down a long hallway where he sees Serpans, crosses like Kira, and a couple of human looking people. Kira give a little wave to a middle-aged woman, and mouths the words, “Hi mum”. The lady is looking over Jason with more than a casual interest. They enter another room which is set up as a kennel.)
(12) Captain Reticuli:
(Shaking hands with Jason – Rufus offers his paw,
which the Captain smiles and shakes)
We need your Rufus…
The girls are ready,
We want pups and they do too.
Your Rufus is ideal
So, let’s make a deal…
Poodles are super, and you know why
Smartest dogs ever.
And I don’t lie
So, let them get it on,
And we’ll see what comes out.
Your daddy dog is a winner,
And not just a beginner…
Chorus: Poodles are super, and you know why
Smartest dogs ever.
And I don’t lie
So, let them get it on,
And we’ll see what comes out.
Your daddy dog is a winner,
And not just a beginner…
Capt R: Poodles are super, and you know why
Smartest dogs ever.
And I don’t lie
So, let them get it on,
And we’ll see what comes out.
Your daddy dog is a winner,
And not just a beginner…
(13) Dog Mating Chorus A – Everyone is watching but Rufus and girl 1 are not seen mating – we are watching the watchers as they sing the chorus)
Chorus: Happy are dogs in love,
Neither needs a shove,
Together they make puppies.
That can swim as good as guppies.
So, lets root for a big litter,
New homes will a be a twitter.
Cause Master Rufus is not a quitter
(Mating 1 is dome they all go to a banquet room on the saucer where a large spread of food – Earthling and Serpan is laid out)
(14) Jason: (Seeing Kira’s love of Pastrami) :
Any decent pastrami, needs a dose of mustard
Just the mild yellow stuff, not a tongue buster,
Just spread it even and thin, darker than custard
You’ll find it very tasty,
So don’t be hasty – put it on the bread,
And you are far ahead.
Kira: I know, that it is good, and I see you love it too.
But like the TV ad said, “I forgot my Gray Pupon,”
So we have French’s instead.
Duet: So lets toast to pastrami
And the wonders it beholds
Share a slice with Rufus
But not so much – cause he has work to do
(Rufus eats his slice, and puts his paw on Kira’s arm, and she laughs, and she give him another)
Jason: Why did you choose me and Rufus,
I am sure there are so many others?
Kira: We thought you would be sympathetic
‘Cause your grandfather saved my dad and grandfather
Jason: My grandfather told stories. You mean they were true?
Your father is the one who likes corn on the cob?
Kira: Yes! And, so do I!
Jason: You know, some government types pestered grandpa for years
Why? He hid them in the barn, and told the Feds that a neighbor was doing crazy experiments with hot air balloons. The feds sent the sheriff with a search warrant to check his barn. All he found were consumed corn cobs. Imagine if they did DNA tests then.
Ruh-Roh (Imitating Scooby Doo)
(Kira Laughs)
(15) (They exit the banquet room, and return to the kennel room where the other poodle girl awaits mating – we are watching the watchers as they sing the chorus)
Chorus:
Happy are dogs in love, again!
Neither needs a shove,
Together they make puppies, again!
That can swim as good as guppies.
So, let’s root for a big litter,
New homes will a be a twitter.
Cause Master Rufus again is not a quitter
(When they are done, Jason hands the girl poodle trainers some treats he has in his pocket)
Jason: For your associates. (They smile)
(16) (Jason, Kira and Rufus return to the banquet room, where Jason and Kira share a cup of tea – she is English, after all)
Jason: Something I never expected, mating poodles, and you, and, you even have the papers. Be sure your agent in Pioche Nevada registers the pups.
Kira: (Laughing) The pups will live on Serpo, so I won’t worry that.
The papers were to assure you we were legit.
But I will mention it to Papa
(Jason Smiles)
Jason: Well pretty lady, I must depart
This was so short, but I will never forget.
The lilac hair lady with her manganese blood,
and Rufus’ two hot dates, of course.
Kira: (puts her hand on Jason’s arm, which he covers with his other hand)
Me too, I never knew.
Someone could be an instant friend.
If the fates allow, we shall meet again.
Jason: “First star on the right, straight on till morning.”
Kira: ‘Till morning… (Kisses Jason on the cheek – smiling – tears starting)
My mother read me “Peter Pan” as a child”
Jason: Remember, big girls don’t cry (winks)
(Kira walks him to the entry room, he waves to her parents as he passes them, and they smile at him – He squeezes her hand, then enters the room, door shuts, the lights dim) – (Jason wakes up in his car – It is morning)
(17) Jason (To Rufus) :
Well buddy that was quite a dream,
and we were here all night?
I am surprised the ranger didn’t kick us out.
(Jason notices an envelope tucked in his pocket)
(He reads)
Thank you to you and Rufus
Two thousand dollars mating fee.
We cloaked your vehicle so the authorities wouldn’t trouble you. Thanks for your kindness to Kira
Regards – Kobarsam “Sam” Reticuli, Captain
Jason: (Took out his phone – and found a selfie he took of him and Kira)
I hope we meet again
Under my sun or yours
It really doesn’t matter
Wormholes or bust
We need to be together
(At this point on the opposite end of the stage Kira appears on the ship – she has a selfie too)
I hope we meet again
Under my sun or yours
It really doesn’t matter
Wormholes or bust
We need to be together
(Then – A duet not duet)
No Seventeen light years will keep us apart
One day we two will join. That is certain.
Act II
(18) Prelude to Act II
(19) Jason:
(Sings to the Photo of the Selfie he had printed)
The pups were due,
A few days ago…
Did they come OK?
And, how are you?
The mailman is coming
I hope she brings good news
A letter from Pioche. Perhaps
(The mailman hand him a letter and there is a letter from Pioche, Nev – He opens it and reads aloud – There is a picture enclosed of Kira with a puppy)
Congratulations! Rufus is a father – Two litters, 15 pups in all!
First star on the right – Straight on till morning.
See you soon!
(Looking at card)
Dear Kira
High in the sky
I have known no peace in my mind
Since I met you
Thoughts of you dominate what I do
And the only way to solve this is
Somehow to see you
I hope it is soon
I do
(He speaks) She added a smiley face)
(Sets the card on the table – looks at Rufus who puts a paw on his arm – Jason grabs Rufus’ leash and puts it on him)
Let’s go to the park, buddy, It’s starting to get dark…
(20) (Scene – The park)
(Jason looks at the spot where he was picked up just over two months earlier, Rufus hops out of the car – And is immediately distracted by a squirrel fussing at him in a nearby tree)
Jason: Look over there, my buddy
The sun is going down
There is a full moon tonight, last time there was a new moon –
When we had our little ride…
(Squirrel in a tree fusses at Jason and Rufus)
That rodent won’t shut up, he has
He has a problem with you, Red
Let’s move on and see what crops up as we walk…
(A glow appears in the same spot – And Jason and Rufus approach it – The Phantom)
(21) Phantom: Master trainer came back for more? (His voice seems hostile)
(At this point – a flash and the phantom is frightened by something – and vanishes – Then Kira appears as a holograph, like the phantom. Winks at Jason and gestures him to come to the light oval, which he does. – Jason is
transported to the ship instantaneously without losing consciousness and is in the arrival room – Kira and Jason have a long hug – Throat clearing over the speaker at which the two separate)
Kira: Welcome back – we wanted you to see the pups and hoped you’d
come to the park for a ride. Don’t mind Hans – He’s a bit dramatic. Probably got a Gwibgwob sandwich where the meat was a little tainted. Gwibgwob – Looks like a six-legged pig and tastes like chicken. (laughs)
(Kira sings what sounds like a TV jungle)
(22) Kira: Get a Gwibgwob sandwich today
With smoky sauce – don’t delay
Your tummy will say – Hey hey
This is what I want, all the way
Get it with onion rings and drink
Tasty lunch combo that way
Your tummy will say – Hey hey
This is what I want, all the way
(Spoken –) It’s a local ad on TV –
Lots of English and American crosses at home like me…
Get a Gwibgwob sandwich today
With smoky sauce – don’t delay
Your tummy will say – Hey hey
This is what I want, all the way
Get it with onion rings and drink
Tasty lunch combo that way

(23) (Kira and Jason leave the room, with Rufus, and as they leave, Jason takes Kira’s hand, and she smiles him. Hans leers at Jason who is holding hands with Kira. The phantom looks like Hans except he has the lilac hair and eyes, he is the son of the first officer on the ship, whose wife was German)
Hans (to another mixed person) : Schwein Earthling. Kira likes that?
(Jason hearing the remark, looks at Hans, and then looks away. Kira giggles)
Hans: An outworlder’s got my girl!
Chorus: Your girl?
Hans: An outworlder’s got my girl!
Chorus: Your girl?
Hans: What does she see in him?
Chorus: In him!
Hans: What does he see in her?
Chorus: In her!
Hans: It’s only cause he’s got a dog!
Chorus: A dog!
Hans: It’s only cause he’s got a poodle!
Chorus: A poodle!
Hans: Earthlings don’t like our kind!
Chorus: our kind?
Hans: Earthlings don’t like our kind!
Chorus: what kind?
One of the other fellows: Don’t kid yourself, Hans
What about your mother from Frankfort?
She liked your father, and there is a greater difference…
Hans: Don’t confuse the issue
Chorus: Maybe he thinks she’s cute?
Hans: Cute?
Chorus: Maybe she thinks he’s cute too?
Hans: Nein!
Chorus: That’s what you think, right?
Hans: Um…
Chorus: (louder) That’s what you think, right?
Hans: Shut up!
Chorus: Control yourself, Hans…
Hans: Control?
Chorus: Find someone else, Hans…
Hans: Find?
Chorus: I think she found someone not you…
Hans: Who?
Chorus: Not you Hans, not you
Hans: We’ll see about that!
(24) (Kira and Jason enter the pup nursery – One of the attendants takes the leash from Rufus and he looks at the 2-week old pups – One of the litters has a huge Red male pup and the other has a huge white male pup)
Kira: So much noise, and so much fun
And the eyes are opening
The births were easy,
And we have your formula recipe
(One of the attendants hands Jason the giant white pup and the bottle)
Jason: You thirsty fellow
Drink and grow big
Big like your papa
And keep an eye on that Hans (He winks at Kira)
You are destined for greatness on a new world, pup
Whose not seen your kind before,
You will help with the gwibgwobs
And be the captain’s friend…
I think you should be named, “Ike”
Just like Rufus’ other son
And the big red named “Wolfgang”
Like Rufus’ pop, just for Hans.
(Kira giggles)
Kira: I was going to ask about names you’d suggest – you already started –
Ike is a cute name and Wolfgang fits, probably call him Wolfie…
(25) Kira: All those years ago
On that Wyoming ranch
Your grandfather’s kindness saved us
Fed my dad corn on the cob, he did
Told the agents a wild balloon tale
That gave them time to get away
After the ship was fixed.
Jason:
All those years ago
At grandpa’s place
A visit by two souls from far away
So here we are today
And here you are with me
The connection is renewed
Brought together by a big red dog
(26) (Mary, Kira’s mom, enters the room)
Mary: Come on you two, I’ve made dinner.
(To Kira) Your father and I need to talk to you both
(They go to the captain’s quarters – where he is waiting. A serious but not unfriendly handshake occurs)
Captain: (looks upward) : Bless this meal and our two worlds… Amen
(To Jason) Kira’s mother makes an excellent filet of Gargwahr.
You would probably compare it to lamb.
Jason: Yes, sir. Looks good.
Captain: My daughter has talked nothing but about you since you left.
This has to be more than poodles
What do you have that so intrigued her?
Jason: Not sure
Be friendly with the nice girl, who I found interesting
Kira: Interesting.. (giggle) Pass the Grey Pupon…
(Jason and her dad simultaneously laugh – Then they look at each other – Captain nods and has a brief smile)
Captain: She wants you to stay and join her on our planet.
This is a whirlwind thing but so were Kira’s mother and I
Unlike Kira’s mother, you are good with your family
Jason: I need a new beginning and I am ready to go.
(He reaches across the table and grasps Kira’s hand)
Marry me, or what ever they call the ceremony in your world…
Kira: (Tears up) Yes…
Captain: I guess that answers a lot of questions. Allright – I am a little speechless which is rare for me…
Jason: What kind of earth sports do you have there?
Captain Sam: Mary started a football er… you would say soccer league started
Jason: Baseball?
Captain: I nominate you to get that going – others have mentioned it…(Smiling)
Jason: My pleasure to do so, Captain
Captain: Call me Sam, …You probably need to get some things
And tell someone you are leaving
So, they don’t send a search party.
(After dinner Jason and Kira are transported to Jason’s front yard where Jason gathers some clothes and his two laptops… those items are then Transported back to the ship)
(27) Jason:Two laptops… I hope they don’t break… 100 trillion miles to the Apple store
Kira: 160 Trillion Kilometers that is…(Winks at Jason)
Jason: (Kiddingly) Oh you English..
Clothes – Clothes – Kira – Check the kitchen, any spices you want to take?
Kira: (Delighted) Oregano and basil plants! Yes yes… Hey Garlic cloves to use on Hans! (Winks at Jason)
Jason: I Messaged my sister – told her to her take anything she wants, told her I’m going on a long trip
Kira: Long-Long
Jason: Got what you want? Let’s go
(Jason has filled a suitcase with clothing – Kira also found some dry spices – They also have a small bag of kibble and a box of treats for Rufus… That was sent to the ship)
(28) (They then head to the store – Kira puts on tinted glasses so no one stares at her eyes. )
Jason: I like your eyes. Do you need those things? (Kira gives him a kiss on the cheek and removes the glasses. The hair, of course is not an issue today. Jason and Kira encounter Jason’s friend Johnny B from work.)
Johnny B: Dood, how are things? Seeing Kira… Is this a new lady?
Kira: (extends her hand to shake which Johnny does) :How d’ya do…
Johnny B: She’s English and cute… Dood! how’d ya get so lucky?
Jason: Charm (Winks at Kira. - To Johnny) Catch-ya later
(They go down the aisles picking up stuff – Kira sees a display of seeds, and gets one of each of the herbs)
Jason: Let’s get some veggies you don’t have there as well
Might as well empty my debit card – can’t use it where I am going
Kira: Our ATMs are different…
Jason: We’ll have to open a new account together
(Jason also goes by the wine area and gets six bottles of champagne Kira looks at it)
Jason (whispers in her ear) Well we are getting married? Right?
(Kira Smiles – They pay for the groceries, end exit the store, and run into Johnny B as they leave)
Jason: Johnny – Can you do me a favor? – tell the boss, I am resigning – I found a new… out of this world opportunity?
Johnny B: But I will miss you buddy…this is sudden
Jason : I’ll miss you too… But I can’t pass this up. (Smiles at Kira…Shakes hands with Johnny – The saucer appears overhead)
Johnny B: Far out of this world, dude… (to Kira) Take care of this one we’ve been good friends since college.
Kira : Most assuredly!
(A white light appears… Jason Kira and the groceries are gone – only the cart remains -This was also seen by a box clerk who looks at Johnny)
Box clerk: We never saw that did we?
Johnny B: (imitating Sgt Schulz, Hogan’s Heroes - ) I see nothing – I know nothing (smiles)
(When they return, an unpleasant figure awaits them)
(29) Hans: Zee Earthlander has returned,
What about it Kira, Have enough?
Kira: Get a life Hans, Put your obsession back in your pants.
(Hans scowls as Kira and Jason leave)
Hans: Earthlanders like him are mostly Schwein
Our cross girls are truly unique
And Kira should be completely mine
I look at him as a predator with a beak
I must find a way to reverse this line
I must act fast and not let this peak
And Kira should be completely mine
Not hanging around with a total circus freak
I will feed him to the Gogoawok
And enjoy watching him consumed,
How dare he steal my Kira
How dare he ruin my life…
(Jason is taken to the bridge of the ship and takes a seat next to the captain)
(30) Captain Reticuli: Wormholes get us around, my boy
Wormholes get us around
Parsecs in but a second.
Time is very mute.
Your Einstein was a genius
But a prophet he was not
There is a multitude of universes
and one can go between,
it’s easy to get lost
In places you haven’t seen – Before
So ride along, Kira’s beau
And see a multitude of stars.
With Rufus as your sidekick
And Kira by your side…
(There is a knock at the door of the bridge – The guards have Hans in something that looks like handcuffs.)
(31) Guard: This one was caught tainting the dog’s food,
but the dog didn’t eat any of it
Hans: (Looking at Jason) :
Captain Reticuli: Put him in confinement,
feed him what he was trying to feed Rufus (Winks at Jason)
(The guards take Hans away)
Captain Reticuli (To Jason): I know what he was trying to give Rufus –
Makes Earthling dogs sterile, but Hans will sprout hair all over his body, that is almost impossible to cut.
(Both laugh at that prospect)
(32) Capt Reticuli: - Were going to take a quick side trip to the system you call Epsilon Eradani. I have a merchant buddy there and he has supplies
(Jason’s first wormhole experience felt weird – He was kinda light headed – He pulls out the bottle of Tylenol he bought at the store – The captain sees it)
Capt Reticuli: Son, you will get used to it – Your body hasn’t messed with the space-time continuum before.
(Jason puts the Tylenol away – In about 15 minutes, they are at the Epsilon Eridani system – an image of a different type of alien appears on screen - )
Morey Rado (Eridani merchant) : Sam bagrod duddit? gog Earthit? – Oh? Excuse me - How are you. Who is the Earthman?
Capt Reticuli: Kira’s fiancée – they call it that on Earth
Morey: Congrats, fellow… Kira is a sweetheart.
Jason: I know…
Morey: I got the selenium and vanadium ore you asked for – you have some frozen gogawok filets for me?
Capt Reticuli: You got it…
(33) Morey: (Singing a song – In English for Jason)
Gogawok, me boys, gogawok
With pepper sauce me boys
Can’t be beaten –
They say the meat is tough
Don’t think so (Shows his carnivore teeth)
Gogawok, me boys, make mine rare
Heat up the skillet
Slice it thick
Heat up the skillet
Spread the oil
Heat up the skillet
Make it quick
Morey’s hungry, (Spoken) and that’s the truth!
Gogawok, me boys, gogawok
With pepper sauce me boys
I want some now
The meat is the best
In the whole universe, gogawok
Gogawok, me boys, make mine rare..
Heat up the skillet
Slice it thick
Heat up the skillet
Spread the oil
Heat up the skillet
Make it quick
Morey’s hungry, (Spoken) and that’s the truth!
Gogawok, me boys, galaxy wide
Tastiest meat ever
Its best when grilled
Gogawok, me boys, gogawok
Barbeque sauce is right, for fillets
Gogawok me boys, must be rare
(Jason applauds – And Morey laughs and bows)
(34) Jason : Mr Morey, you are coming to Kira and my ceremony?
Morey: Wouldn’t miss it.
( The image vanishes)
Jason: Captain – I must learn your language – I will be living in your world – Kira will be an excellent teacher
Captain ; Yes she will and thank you!
(35) The Landing –
(On the arrival, they are greeted by the Emperor, the Captain’s cousin, and he has a march-) Emperor’s March
(36) (The crowd goes quiet, then Kira’s sister Mora appears with her boyfriend, a Serpan, and the two ladies sing the planetary anthem.. Written by a local Serpan and sung before soccer matches in the league Kira and Moira’s mother started. Moira looks a lot like Kira, a little taller and a couple years younger)
Duet: There is a place
In the universe
That we call home
Beneath two gold suns
That give us the warmth
So we all can thrive
Kira: Serpo,
Moira: Serpo
Kira: Green land,
Moira: Aqua seas
Kira: Serpo,
Moira: Serpo
Duet: This is our home
Duet: There is a place
In a corner of
The milky way
Where our souls reside
And three cratered moons
That share our blue skies
Kira: Serpo,
Moira: Serpo
Duet: Golden fields
Kira: Serpo,
Moira: Serpo
Duet: Always our home
Duet: We travel far
Explore a lot
Never forgetting
Where we all come from
This our special place
In the universe
Kira: Serpo,
Moira: Serpo
Duet: Our place in space
Kira: Serpo,
Moira: Serpo
Duet: This is our home
(37) Dances of the Zetans.
(A folk dance troupe of Serpans performs dances as part of the celebration of the ships return. They are called in English, the Zetans – for Zeta Reticuli, the star)
(38) (On the ground Jason holding Kira’s hand on the other hand grasping Rufus’ leash sings about Awakening)
Jason: Here on a new world I stand,
With my lady by my side,
The future is not known
But an awakening this is
I am ready to go
Kira: There are two suns, that you know.
Our own, and one not far
They make double light
Sometimes at night
You will be surprised
Jason: Lots of things to learn
You will be my guide
What’s Gwibgwob taste like?
That is just the start
Kira: A new horizon is here
Going near and far
But I sure you’ll be fine
I believe in you
You are just the best
Jason: Talk about the best
She stands before me now
Better than the rest
The top of any list
The only one for me…
(Jason are facing each other holding hands being silent)
Chorus: Two souls from different worlds,
Have found each other now
In the universe wide,
Side by side,
They stand together now
Kira and Jason: We sing ourselves a duet
Solo we’re no more
To a different tune
Coming soon
That is the brand new way
Here on a new world we stand,
With you-u by my side,
The future is not known
But an awakening this is
We are ready to go
(39) (At this point Hans is escorted off the ship, (Mumbling incoherently)
coated in a fine magenta hair to the laughter of the people around) – Rufus Barks at him
Kira: Manganese in his blood, bud (giggle)
And he won’t be able to shave (giggle)
At this point, Hans’ father appears, grabs him by the ear and shoves him into a waiting vehicle
(Rufus sees one of the poodles he mated with and pulls on the leash – so Jason lets him go over there. They greet, sniff, and lick each other)
(40) (Another ship arrives, a smaller scientific vessel…)
Captain Spektra: Bad news, Betelgeuse is about to blow,
Though we won’t see it for 500 years.
Good news is the X-ray stream won’t hit us
Or (Looking at Jason) Earth,
But we need to send a warning to Tau Cetians.
It could get close to them..
Chorus: Oh ye beacon, orange and glowing
Your time is nearly done
Giant to little white dwarf
Or maybe a black hole
The sky will be
Missing something
Ne’er to be the same
Oh ye beacon, orange and glowing
Your time is nearly done
Giant to little white dwarf
Or maybe a black hole
(41) Kira: I want to give you a tour. See the sights, and learn of a couple of our legends
Jason: Lead on my lady.
(They climb in a golf cart looking vehicle and Kira drives)
(42) (Zak defeats the mad Gogawok – They stop at a monument next to a small lake)
Kira: There was a gogawok quite mad
On the shores of Lake Ladu
He rampaged and killed many folks
Before Zak came to view
And People were quite terrified
They knew not what to do
Then Zak said, “lets get some tree sap”
And trick him so that he’s stuck
The lesson here is to think outside
Outside your narrow box
And quite mad creature can be subdued
And you don’t need lots of luck
Zak is quite the hero now
The women gathered all round him
But his fav’rit lady he already chose
So they had a giant barbeque
(43) (Gus the circle builder – They stop at the New Circle Academy)
Kira: There is a circle builder
His name is Gus,
And he made the best ones
Anywhere in the universe
But his work was dismissed
‘Cause he wasn’t ‘properly’ trained
The profs at Academy Circle
Felt their words needed
So any contest held
Gus always finished last
The bad profs were; Paro, Witt and Gel
But then Emperor found out
The dishonesty that was there
Petty jealousy – and not straight judging
Was what those three were about
The Emperor closed that school
We will open a new school
With none of you fellows there
We invite Gus to instruct
Remove yourselves from my sight
You were using my funding for your foolishness
“Good Bye”, he told them
(44) (the legend of Xot, the Physicist – They stop at a statue)
There was brilliant math guru named Xot
Realized the view of the system was wrong
Shamans of the old order demanded silence
Killed the math guru when he refused
But Xot had a following, and they knew
They knew the old way was wrong
There was not Serpo centered universe
But that the universe was infinite
Said it was a simple murder of Xot
And the old shamans were themselves dispatched
And so here we are today, and Xot is a hero
Combines your Copernic’, Aryabhata, and Bruno
And we have the festival of Xot
And celebrate the truth of his vision
(45) (Kira returns with Jason)
Shaman: It is time!
(Kira and Jason are led to a tent where they are given a pair of ceremonial wedding robes which they put on)
(46) Ceremony at Sunset
(Wedding March)
(47) Shaman: To the creator of the universe
We stand these two before you
Ask the blessings from you
And of those you sent to teach us
From the Earth and this world of ours
May they have health fortune
And never grow tired of one another.
Do you Kira take Jason as your ONE?
Kira: Yes!
Shaman: Do you Jason take Kiras as your ONE?
Jason: Yes!
Shaman: And so it shall be and so it is…Amen
To all present, I present Jason and Kira, united as one…
(Shaman exits – Jason and Kira kiss and then to one another…)
(48) Kira: In this place, in this time,
Here at sunset,
on a new world,
far from your home,
You are here with me now,
On a journey through life’s path,
It is a unique way getting here…
I love you,
But you're my friend too,
And, I feel so safe with you…
I'm an odd duck,
For those things I do…
But you just think it’s cute…
I thank the Creator above,
For bringing us,
Now, together right here...
Now and forever more
Jason: And you here by me now,
Before the Creator, and those here
In your ...eyes I see the world.
From what has gone before,
It’s all done with now,
Just you and me forever more…
I am strong, when you're with me,
My heart is filled with joy…
On this land, with that cool breeze,
Comes a warmth from deep within…
With you there, I'm at peace,
In the coming eve,
Everything around lights up for me
Kira: What the future will bring,
Is unknown to us,
Its only in a higher power's hands
Jason: But right now… you and me,
In this place and time,
All that… that we do need..
We need to know now..
Kira & Jason: I love you
We are now as one
We do stand together so
You for me, and
Me for you
It is what's important now
So let us go forth now
Beneath this Canopy of Stars
The future is ours, my love...
Aaaaahhhhh
